February 2008 Update
Welcome to the Aaron Siskind Foundation.
If
you're unfamiliar with ASF, we hope you take a moment to learn more about us, and about Aaron Siskind.
ASF's Individual Photographer's Fellowship grant program encourages and celebrates artistic achievement in contemporary photography by supporting the creative endeavors of individual artists working in still photography and photography-based media.
We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2007 Aaron Siskind Foundation IPF grants. Our panel of judges recently selected six applicants to receive cash grants of $5,000 to help further their creative projects and abilities. This was not an easy job for the panel, with so much great work and over 900 applications received. If you applied in 2007 and did not receive a grant, don't give up! Several of this year's first-time recipients had previously applied one or more times.
We have learned a lot in our first all-digital grant year. We will continue to work to improve our grant program, procedures and technologies on an on-going basis, and to seek funding to provide more support for the many exceptional image-makers across our country.
Visit the IPF Grant section of the site for last year's Grant Information and Application Guidelines. Information about the next IPF grant cycle will be posted when it becomes available.
We are pleased to announce the publication
of Aaron Siskind 100,
a Blind Spot Book, published by powerHouse Books. The most significant
and comprehensive collection of Siskind works published in decades,
this sumptously produced monograph brings together both well-known
and never-before-published images from Aaron's six decade career.
